Expats in Panama seem to go through the same process: #1. the need for more than they are getting back home; #2. a solution to moving forward in lives that feel stuck; #3. Research; and #4. action toward their ultimate goal. Scott’s story is similar to what we’ve seen over the years at The Agency Panama. If you’re looking to make your goals come true sooner, join the expats in Panama who have found what you’re looking for.
Scott’s Story
Scott always felt like he was in the epicenter of his field. A tech sales executive living in Vancouver and not far from Seattle’s booming tech industry, Scott used his social media and technology savvy to build a solid career by his late 30s. But his forties were looming, and he felt there were other possibilities he was in danger of missing out on. The tech industry moves so fast that Scott often feels like he is chasing trends rather than setting them and is, more often than not, playing catch-up in an industry that favors innovation.
An Opportunity to Diversify
Scott was also interested in diversifying his portfolio and building his professional network. He made a decent living with a $150k per year salary, but he was far from the luxurious lifestyle to which he wanted to become accustomed. “No one ever accused the tech industry of being stable,” he liked to say, and he thought that investing in real estate would solve two issues: diversifying his portfolio and building more personal wealth.
Dollars Go Further in Panama
Scott had his eyes on Panama as a candidate for real estate investment for a long time. He had done his research and knew that Panama uses US dollars as their currency, and those dollars stretch a lot farther than they do in Canada or the United States. He found what he thought would be the perfect property in Playa Escondida Marina and Resort. Still in the planning stages, Playa Escondida will be located in the coastal zone of the Costa Ariba region, about an hour from Panama City. This will be such an exclusive place that there will be one road in that passes through the local mountains. In front of the apartment buildings and villas that adorn the property will be one and a half kilometers of pristine Caribbean beach.
Playa Escondida Marina and Resort Fit the Bill
This will be the “it” exclusive luxury resort. It is precisely what Scot is looking for if he wants to join the trendsetters in Panama. This resort has everything Scott was looking for: a mixed-use residential and leisure travel spot inspired by the natural beauty of the sea in front of it and the mountains behind it. There would be something for everyone: relaxing on the beach, swimming and kayaking in the pristine Caribbean waters, or fishing and boating just offshore; this oceanfront property would be a target for every entrepreneur, real estate investor, and tech executive in Panama.
Opening Up a World of Possibilities
Knowing that this would be a sought-after property, Scott didn’t want to miss out. He feared that the prices would go up if he waited too long. For once, he wanted to be ahead of the game. He secured his financing for an apartment in one of the Spanish-style high-rises. Now, he can choose whether to use it as his primary residence in Panama or as a high-end income property. This luxury property in Panama will open up a world of possibilities for him.
