Devin built an excellent career in New Orleans. As an international business entrepreneur, David could use New Orleans as a hub to get anywhere whenever he needed. He also loves New Orleans for its vitality and especially its culture. But like most other major American cities, New Orleans was becoming too expensive and burdened by taxes and regulations. Also, at 56-years-old, Devin could feel the clock ticking. He had a good career, but he always thought there were new levels to which he could take it, and his work-life balance needed to be improved. Having worked internationally for many years, Devin knew that Panama had a burgeoning economy and that retirees had been flocking there for years. He also knew that Panama has a business-friendly environment. Still, he didn’t think he could maintain the success he generated in New Orleans down in Central America. However, being spontaneous and outgoing in nature, Devin decided to travel to Panama to get a real sense of what was going on there on the ground.
A Visit to Paradise Was a Game Changer
Seeing Panama firsthand was eye-opening. He took several tours of self-sustainable, eco-friendly homes and provided the kind of high-tech amenities he could use to manage his business. He learned that Panama City is a hub for international travel, and there are thirty cities worldwide to which he could fly directly. Devin also discovered that Panama has an excellent healthcare system, which was very important to him, and other entrepreneurs in Panama, as he advanced in age.
Devin met several expat entrepreneurs who told him about their successes living in Panama. Many of them worked in similar businesses, and he felt like these were people he could connect with as business and personal contacts.
Panama is Taking “Prisoners!”
(Of course, they’re coming willingly!) Devin’s spontaneity got the best of him, and he relocated to Panama. He would tell you that it was the best decision he ever made. Panama’s business climate is as welcoming as the tropical climate that covers it. His business not only continued to flourish in Panama, but he was able to expand it to other countries he had not yet tapped into. Devin’s salary allows him to afford a luxurious home outside of Panama City close to the beach with eco-friendly components like solar power.
Devin also noticed that the lower taxes and lower cost of living allowed his money to stretch farther than it had in the US. Always looking for new investment opportunities, Devin used his extra money to invest in real estate outside the city, and now he has a passive income and his international business. In a very short time, Devin has a career and is living the life he always wanted.
